After I wrote Katie & Kimble: A Ghost Story (a chapter book for ages 7-10, 280L) and Katie & Kimble: The Magic Wish (290L), I asked two teachers to read the stories to their
classes. I wanted to know if the kids liked the books and what
their opinions were.So, Mrs. Dodd's third grade class in Iowa read the books, and Mrs. Countryman's fourth grade class in Illinois read the books, too.
Then all of our readers in both of the classes each wrote me a letter. Here are some of their comments. (The first comment is from the seven-year-old daughter of some friends I used to teach with.)
“I love reading your book. Once I started to read it to my sister at bedtime I didn’t want to stop.”
